WFRP: Hunting Monsters for Fun and Profit
#WarhammerWednesday
Today’s blog post from WFRP Producer Pádraig Murphy concerns monsters - why they are still worth pursuing and how to hunt them! Pádraig offers examples of unusual and insidious beasts GMs can utilise to surprise and delight players and raise their expectations!
So, settle in, read on and distract yourself by hunting some hazardous beasts!! If you fancy ordering the WFRP Core you can do that on our webstore here or purchase just the PDF here.
Missed our Covid 19 update? Catch up here.
Hunting Monsters for Fun and Profit
Hi All, hunting monsters is, in many ways, the low-hanging fruit of roleplaying games of every stripe. Much like kicking off an adventure in a tavern, or clearing a basement of giant rats, it’s very much a case of been there, slew that. Below are three arguments for pursuing this kind of adventure in your game all the same.
The Best Part of a Trope is Subverting It
A small village, poorly travelled and rarely recalled in the halls of power, has a problem.

Warhammer Community -Charlotte Hamilton
We love hearing from the wider RPG community and this week we want to introduce you to Charlotte, who some of you may already be familiar with from Twitter, Facebook or the multiple Discord servers Charlotte moderates!
Let’s start this off with a brief introduction: I’m Charlotte (aka Foxfyre) and I run the various Discord servers surrounding the latest Warhammer Roleplaying Games. You may also see me from time-to-time around Facebook dropping invites for the discord servers. I talk a lot and invite people to discord. It’s what I do.
I got started with the Rat Catchers Guild in May of 2018 with Matt and Liam, who have moved on to run their podcast ‘Mud & Blood Podcast’, where they review, interview, and run actual plays of gritty games. You can also find me on there taking part in the APs.
To be honest, I don’t remember how it all started, I think I was looking to see what was around for WFRP at the time. I spotted a link for a new server, and being the Discord junkie I am, I clicked

AoS: Soulbound —Tree-Revenant Waypiper Reveal!
#MortalRealmsMonday
Today we’re revealing the final Sylvaneth Archetype for Age of Sigmar: Soulbound— the Tree-Revenant Waypiper.
Warriors of the Sacred Forests
You are a warrior-spirit of the living wood, and woe betide any who trespass on the sacred forests
The Tree-Revenants are the lethal foot soldiers of the Sylvaneth glades, the standing army of the war-groves. Outside of battle they tend to be sombre beings, with impenetrable customs that no creature not of sap and heartwood could hope to understand, but which to the Tree-Revenant mean everything. Each Tree-Revenant carries in their heartwood the echoes of the warrior lives that preceded it, borne through the generations, soulpod to soulpod, blending with and shaping much of the spirit’s martial style and personality. Seldom does a Tree-Revenant encounter a situation that they have not, somewhere in their ancestral memory, faced and overcome a hundred times before. This spiritual lineage, it is believed, roots all Tree-Revenants

Enemy in Shadows Collector's Edition Update
Enemy Within & Enemy in Shadows Collector's Edition Update
As an added bonus for everyone who ordered the Collector's Edition, we’re including a little something extra. Along with Enemy in Shadows and its Companion volume, certain agents of the Purple Hand have tucked into the slipcase a folder with all of the handouts, maps, missives, and notes you’ll need to pass to your players during the course of the campaign.
No need to risk your beautifully bound volume’s spine by flattening it on the photocopier, or otherwise sacrifice anything to the ruinous powers!
This will be included with all future volumes of The Enemy Within Collector’s Edition as well, so - if you opt to buy a future volume you will still receive this extra.
While we are currently printing Vol 1 - it takes extra time to complete the Collector’s editions as there are additional elements in the print process that help make these editions extra special. We will share more on delivery dates as soon

Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Art Reveal
#MortalRealmsMonday
Did you catch last Thursday's art reveal and update? We were delighted to share the Great Parch (above) by the talented Jared Blando and today we have two more art reveals to share!
Only those who burn belong to life.
- Vendell Blackfist, last great Smith-Lord of the Direbrand Tribe
The Great Parch has stood at the centre of many of the greatest events in Aqshy’s history, for good and ill. It was on the Great Parch where many of the barbarous tribes of the east first willingly embraced worship of the Blood God, but also where Sigmar first unleashed his Stormcast Eternals and struck back against the armies of Chaos. The indomitable Fyreslayers were born on the Great Parch, yet so too was the twisted Goretide of the terrible Chaos Warlord Korghos Khul. The Great Parch has been the backdrop for some of the greatest victories and vilest atrocities in the history of the Mortal Realms. This is where your story begins.
- The map was created by renowned cartographer Jared

Age of Sigmar: Soulbound - Let's Fight!
Hello! Welcome back to #MortalRealmsMonday. As mentioned last week, we’re in the final stages of playtesting for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound. We’ll be discussing more of our playtests, but first we wanted to share some insight into how combat works.
Put ‘em Up
Before we get into things, if you haven’t read our posts on how tests work in Soulbound, you can find them here and here. Read them? Cool, let’s get to it.
In Soulbound, characters have three major combat traits: Melee, Accuracy, and Defence.
Melee is how effective you are in hand-to-hand combat. It is derived from your Body and your Weapon Skill. When making a Melee Attack, you make a Body (Weapon Skill) Test.
Accuracy represents your marksmanship and ability to pick out a target. It is derived from your Mind and your Ballistic Skill. When making a Ranged Attack, you make a Body (Ballistic Skill) Test.
Defence is how hard you are to hit, and how adept you are at avoiding danger. Defence is derived from your Body and
