WFRP: The Rulebook is a Treasure Chest
(Part #2)
Hey folks, Ben here, and I’m back to finish this Rulebook-is-Treasure-Chest thing off! Last time I talked about some of the Character and Action optional rules from the rulebook, and their effects, not just on the mechanics of your Campaign, but on the fiction as well. I discussed how every change you make changes how the Old World lives, breathes, and feels at the table, and pointed out some options you might want to adopt, depending on your playstyle.
But, as I said last time, there are two more categories of options to go through: System optional rules and the Between Adventures chapter, so let’s not waste any more time!
System Options
Options: Deathblow
Page 160 brings us the Deathblow optional rule, which — as the name suggests — is combat focused! Deathblow allows Characters to keep attacking if they manage to kill an opponent in melee combat. It’s basically the Gotrek Gurnisson rule where everyone's favourite slayer wades through scores of lesser

WFRP: The Rulebook is a Treasure Chest
(Part #1)
It's that time of the week again, #WARHAMMERWEDNESDAY! So, let's get stuck right into Ben's latest blog!
It's WFRP Time, again! Hey folks, I'm Ben, and I literally cannot stop talking about Warhammer. Honestly, it's a serious problem... but we'll manage, won't we? This week, my compulsion has me thinking about all the little optional rules scattered throughout Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and what they might mean for the fiction of your Warhammer game, in addition to the mechanics.
As I've said before, the fiction is as important as the mechanics of a game, and the two are closely related. We know WFRP is a game about gritty heroes because we have so many rules dedicated to permanent injury, disease, and the slow encroachment of Chaos. The mechanics reinforce the fiction, and vice versa. Therefore, it stands to reason that every change you make to the rules — whether it's house rules or the Options given to you in the rulebook — will, in turn, change the fiction

Day Five - The One Ring
“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
The One Ring Roleplaying Game was another important milestone for us at Cubicle 7. Designed by Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi, the game is based on The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™ by J.R.R. Tolkien. The One Ring was released in 2011 and garnered praise and won many awards for its depiction of Middle-earth and the care, love, and respect with which it treated Tolkien’s works.
Since its launch, The One Ring has seen the release of over a dozen supplements. From their earliest adventures through Wilderland, players have explored from the Last Homely House of Rivendell to the far reaches of Eriador, they have travelled south to parley with the Horse-lords of Rohan and returned to explore the legendary Kingdom Under the Mountain in Erebor, and they have lived through the Darkening of Mirkwood and the growing threat of

Hello Again,
A cornerstone of geek culture and a fundamental pillar of TV history, Doctor Who always held a special place in both of my hearts. Not only was the show a TV highlight of my childhood, but my sister Siân played Sandra in The Christmas Invasion, and my great uncle Fred helped build the first batch of Daleks. The explosive success of the show's 2005 regeneration was the perfect opportunity to bring the storytelling magic of the Doctor's time-trotting adventures to tables across the universe.
Doctor Who plays an important role in the Cubicle 7 story – it was working on the game that let us take the company full-time, and certainly accelerated our growth enormously. I remember working on the core set very vividly – it was such an intense time, working closely with David F. Chapman into the warm early summer evenings
