Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay First Edition - Castle Drachenfels

Deep within the Grey Mountains, almost hidden amongst the jagged peaks, lurks the dark imposing castle of the Great Enchanter Drachenfels. Even though its master is now dead, his terrible presence scoured from the conscious mind and only mentioned in fireside tales, the mute stone walls of the castle still seem to stir with dark and malicious purpose.

Many brave Adventurers have entered the castle's forbidding walls in search of treasure and glory, or to satisfy their morbid curiosities. Few have ever returned. Those that have tell of strange forces and long dead creatures prowling the slimy corridors, guarding the bowels of their master's domain from unwelcome intrusion. Now you stand awestruck

    #WarhammerWednesday

Today we have part two of our five part series from legendary WFRP writer Graeme Davis - this post is packed to the brim with information and new adventure hooks - perfect for any WFRP fan! If you missed it - you can find part I - Inn Adventure Hooks here.

If you don't already have it - you can order Rough Nights and Hard Days here and receive the PDF that's included straight away!

    Courthouse Adventure Hooks

Hi All, continuing the series, here are some ideas for adventure plots set in the courthouse of a medium-sized town -  like the one in Kemperbad in Rough Nights and Hard Days.

    Helping Justice Along

The adventurers find themselves in the same position as Baron von Dammenblatz in “A Day at the Trials.” They are involved in some legal case, and their opponent has claimed and been granted trial by combat – which, given the strength and expertise of his champion, means that the case is practically unwinnable.

Honest and devout characters might make offerings at the

Today we have a new article by legendary WFRP designer Graeme Davis. Graeme has been involved with WFRP since the very beginning and is currently working on the Enemy Within campaign with WFRP producer Pádraig Murphy and the C7 team.

This is the first in a series of articles Graeme is writing for C7 - keep an eye out for the next one soon! These articles will offer lots of new adventure hooks you can use in your WFRP games - let's get started at the Inn from Rough Nights and Hard Days!

    Inn Adventure Hooks

All of the locations in Rough Nights and Hard Days were designed to be re-usable. Each place is a typical example of its type, which you can drop into your own adventures whenever you need to. As often happens, I came up with more ideas than I could use in the book itself, so here are some additional adventure hooks. Let’s start with the riverside (or roadside) inn:

    The Pirates’ Lookout

One of the inn’s staff works for a local gang of robbers or river pirates. Perhaps

Today we want to share an interesting meet the team piece with a focus on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay from Rachael Macken. Rachael joined the Cubicle 7 team in 2019 as a Graphic Designer focusing on Warhammer initially. With years of experience in branding, design and print combined with a love of games, Rachael has made a great addition to our team. Her creativity and detailed research is obvious in the striking covers shown below for the Collector’s editions of The Enemy Within Volume 1. Rachael also worked on the layout for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Wrath & Glory that we shared recently.

    Hi All,

I have always loved art, even as I was a child, I loved to draw and paint. As a teen, I found myself drawn to darker fantasy art, such as skulls, dragons and demons. In my spare time I doodled tattoo-style art and monochrome designs. I love to learn new things, especially if they have an artistic element. I studied Web Development and Graphic Design

"Ours is the true cause! Though this usurper sends his army against us, we shall not fail! When Hargrim’s Crown is ours, the Holds will flock to the side of Right and Justice. They will flock to us!"

Civil war is brewing among the Dwarf kingdoms of the southern World’s Edge. In the midst of this crisis, a lost Hold has been found: Kadar-Gravning, the Hold of legendary Hargrim, a Dwarf-King without equal. To the Dwarfs of the World’s Edge, there is no greater symbol of rulership than Hargrim’s Crown. He who owns the crown is the true King, and when civil war comes, the faction that has the crown will surely prevail…

But finding the crown won’t be easy. Kadar-Gravning was sacked a century ago by Orcs. Large parts of the

  6. WFRP: Magic Systems

    WFRP: Magic Systems

    #WarhammerWednesday

Today we have a blog post about Magic in WFRP from Clive Oldfield. Clive started playing WFRP virtually the day it came out, back in 1986 and has contributed to the second, third and fourth editions of the RPG, as well as the officially unofficial Warpstone magazine and so is an excellent source of information! Look out for another article from Clive soon!

    Magic Systems

The magic rules for WFRP are made up from a number of smaller systems. Just like the Winds of Magic, these systems need to be manipulated and coerced before the full power of magic can be realised. Although I am not a Wizard, I will go over a few of the fundamentals of spell casting in WFRP, and a few tweaks to the existing systems.

The most straight-forward way to cast a spell, and a method that can only reliably be used on very low Casting Number (CN) spells, is to simply make a Language (Magick) Test. If this succeeds, then a CN: 0 spell is successful. CN: 0 means that no extra Success Levels are

"They're coming back! You must get to Eyrie, stop them getting the Crystal! To Eyrie ... "

Buy this title here. And find out more about Doomstones Part 1 here and Part 2 here - both also available in PDF!

A hundred years on, the Ogres of the Bloodaxe Alliance once again threaten the Yetzin Valley. Their target is the great monastery of Eyrie, standing high on a pinnacle of rock above the Winter's Teeth Pass. And, a century ago, it was to Eyrie that the Dwarf-mage Yazeran fled with the fabled Crystal of Air when the Ogres first invaded the valley.

    #WFRP Update

    #WarhammerWednesday

Just a quick update on the current status of our WFRP projects. We’ve been quiet for a bit, but a lot has been going on behind the scenes! The final few pieces of art have been coming in for WFRP Death on the Reik, and the updated Ubersreik Adventures are just being given a final polish.

We have a few new adventures on the way, as well as a couple of small unannounced extras that you might find interesting - more on that in the next couple of weeks.

Our printer is currently operating at a reduced capacity, but remains open. In fact, the first few samples of certain quite anticipated books have arrived and are looking very nice indeed!

Currently the special editions are being finished - the slip cases and additional print processes require a little extra manufacturing time - but we expect those to be completed shortly. We are monitoring the situation, and will let everyone know right away if that changes.

Aside from all things WFRP, we wish you all the best under

  9. WFRP: Shadows over Bogenhafen - Sewers

WFRP: Shadows over Bogenhafen - Sewers

    #WarhammerWednesday

    Shadows under Bogenhafen

In the original Shadows over Bogenhafen, some extra attention was given to the exact ways and means by which adventurers might attempt to leap the stream of effluent that winds its way through the sewers beneath the town.

This was removed from Enemy in Shadows for reasons of space, and because a similar, if less nuanced, effect can be had by calling for an Athletics Test should Characters wish to attempt anything other than a slow shuffle in pursuit of their quarry.

Legendary WFRP writer Graeme Davis and WFRP Producer Pádraig Murphy thought it might come in handy for some of you now. So, we have cleansed the text of most spoilers, and presented it below.

Despite its absence from Enemy in Shadows, the chart below is not without its charms, and anything that might encourage Characters to take further (calculated) risks in the sewers can only be a good thing!

Above is both the Bogenhafen Sewer Diagram, and a description of those now infamous sewers.
