Lords of Stone and Steel - what's the focus?
"For we are the sons of Grugni; alone we are rocks, united we stand with the strength of a mountain."
Lords of Stone and Steel is the second of two books Cubicle 7 have produced for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay that provide specific information on the Dwarfs.
Following on from the Dwarf Players Guide this is primarily a book for GMs and collectors, though may also prove useful to a player who wishes to learn more about the culture and lifestyle of the Dwarfs, and those from the hold of Karak Norn in particular.
The book focusses on providing information about the homes of the Dwarfs, the majority of whom live within holds, vast fortress-cities dug into the rock of the world’s great mountain ranges. Karak Norn is one such place, and much of the book is dedicated to describing this hold, which lies close to the Reikland where many Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay adventures are set.
GMs will find the book a valuable resource. It contains all the information they need to take games from their traditional setting among the Human lands of the Empire and site them within the realm of the Dwarfs. It gives them alternative tools to use for running games and plenty of ideas for designing suitable scenarios, including a number of patrons and enemies to provide adventure content.
The guide to Karak Norn will be of interest to any fan of the Warhammer Fantasy setting, providing a detailed examination of a famous hold.
