Blood and Bramble

Before ever Teclis pondered the notion of Human wizards, and long before Magnus the Pious laid the foundation for the Colleges of Magic, there was still magic in the land that would become the Empire. To the Witch Hunter it is all base witchery, and its practitioners worthy of little consideration and a good deal of kindling. Those who know a little better recognise that there are distinctions to be made. Witchcraft is the shortest path to power, be it ever so soaked in blood, while the Lore of Hedgecraft is more subtle, its many paths disappearing into the brambles at the edge of civilisation. Which sounds more appealing? Come closer, and learn for yourself...

Blood and Bramble is a collection of 24 new spells, a dozen each from the lores of Witchcraft and Hedgecraft. These spells expand the offering found in the core book substantially, and greatly expand the capabilities of non-college practitioners. This PDF also includes each spell as a printable spell card, so you can easily add them to the magic already found in the WFRP rulebook. For the GM who wishes to make use of these new spells a pair of NPCs are also provided. Old Mar of Diesdorf is a Hedgewitch who, when she forgets herself, claims to have see Magnus the Pious in the flesh. Her counterpart is The Elsewise Witch of Gubtenreich, a sheep farmer who found more coin in whispered spells than shorn ewes. Both come with a detailed stat block, intriguing plot hooks, and a knowledge of arcane lore that could prove useful or deadly, depending on how they are approached. Blood and Bramble is the perfect addition to any player Witch or Hedgewitch’s arsenal, but can also be of use to GMs in creating NPC adversaries with unexpected magical abilities.

Sullasara’s Spells

When Teclis decided to instruct the humans of the Empire in the use of magic, there was much grumbling. Some thought it madness; while others saw the grim necessity of it. However, the Elf High Mage Sullasara saw it as an excellent opportunity to educate the Empire’s unfortunates in the ways of their betters. To this end, she scribed a short grimoire of useful magics, taken from each of the eight lores taught at the colleges Teclis founded, and had it translated into Reikspeil. Sullasara chose spells that she felt were safe, useful, and would have as little use on the battlefield as possible.

The Wizards of the Empire have been abusing these magics ever since.

Sullasara’s Spells of Unrivalled Utility is a fascinating collection of 24 new spells, three for each of the eight lores of colour magic practised in the Empire. These spells are designed to provide utility outside of combat, but no doubt canny wizards will put them to use in ways their creator could not have envisioned. This PDF also includes each spell as a printable spell card, so you can easily add them to the magic already found in the WFRP rulebook.

Sullasara’s Spells of Unrivalled Utility is the perfect addition to any player Wizard’s arsenal, but can also be of use to GMs in creating NPC adversaries with unexpected magical abilities.

Old World Adventures: Skarok and a Hard Place

Skarok and a Hard Place

Those who make their lives in the Empire's scattered villages and hamlets know their existence is often perilous. Roving bands of beastmen, bandits, and even the standing armies of petty lords all threaten these precarious settlements. Few hazards are more feared than Orc Warbands, who often sweep through the Empire leaving death and ruin in their wake. Even smaller warbands can be a threat, and when the mayor's son is taken, an entire village is left wondering if the Orcs will really stop there...

Skarok and a Hard Place is an exciting adventure for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Hired to rescue a young man kidnapped by Orcs, the Characters find themselves dragged into the internal disputes and vicious infighting of an Orc warband. Clearly the Orcs can't be trusted, but even the Characters' humany allies are not above suspicion. Can they navigate a web of violence and betrayal to succeed, or will they find themselves trapped between Skarok and a hard place?

This adventure can be used as a standalone adventure, serve as the starting point for new adventures, or be easily slotted into any ongoing WFRP campaign.

The Night Parade

Along the Empire’s roads, the dead walk. Called from their slumber by a necromancer’s profane whispers, or buried where dark magic saturates the ground, these Undead march without rest, adding to their number with each hapless soul they cross. Whether such bands move with a purpose or wander aimlessly, they often find themselves the centre of folk tales. Many a terrified tavern audience has gathered around the fire to hear stories of wild hunts, ghostly processions, and corpse-laden carts come to carry away the unwary. Of these, one story has risen to prominence. If you wander through the fertile lands between the Grey Mountains and the Reikwald Forest, listen always for the sounds of creaking wheels and a tolling bell. Do not wait to ask the carriage for a lift. Hide. Cover your ears. And whatever you do, do not follow where the bell leads. The Night Parade are calling.

The Night Parade are a band of wandering Undead, drawn together by the ancient Liche, Old Jasper. Setting out from the Grey Mountains when both moons shine as crescents, he leads his charges through the Vorbergland, calling the dead to him wherever they go. There appears to be little rhyme or reason to the Night Parade’s journeys. Yet, each time they are sighted, their numbers are sure to grow.

Alongside full profiles for personalities such as Old Jasper and his Wight Lieutenants are templates to advance the basic Undead creatures found in the Warhammer Fantasy Core Rulebook, turning them into Liche Corpsemasters, Liche Lords, Wights, Wight Champions, and Mass Grave Dead, as well as templates to raise mounts as Undead steeds. The Night Parade also includes full rules and adventure hooks for including Corpse Carts in your games.

Forest of Hate

A plague is afflicting settlements in the eastern Laurelorn Forest. Shallyan prayers have proven ineffective and herbal remedies are scarce. If the Empire’s heroes cannot discover a way to contain this plague, Nordland’s logging industry will collapse as war and chaos devastate the Laurelorn.

Forest of Hate is an exciting action-investigative adventure aimed at experienced Characters in the 2nd or 3rd tier of their Careers.Characters will face up against disease, discrimination and superstition as they explore the beleaguered forest towns. A terrified populus, a group of nefarious woodsmen, ancient Elven ruins and more await as Characters attempt to uncover and ultimately thwart the machinations of the Ruinous Powers from corrupting the Laurelorn.

An ideal standalone adventure, Forest of Hate can be easily incorporated into existing WFRP campaigns.

Skeleton Crew

Geheimnisnacht, the cursed night when the Chaos Moon rises full and the dead do not rest easily, approaches, and violent storms have wracked the northern coasts of the Empire. On the tiny island of Odner the captain of a small trading cog is tasked with delivering a cargo of the unconsecrated dead to a safe harbour before they become restless. The Characters are roped in to assist him, but the journey ahead of them is sure to be troublesome and perilous. This spooky scenario for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay takes place upon the ocean waves, and whilst the Sea of Claws supplement is not needed to enjoy the scenario, it would help provide additional ideas and details.

Skeleton Crew is a short scenario that can be completed in a single session, filled with spooky goings on and mysterious events.

The scenario contains all the rules and background needed to include Captain Vangheist and his ship, the Shadewraith, in games of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

The Emperor’s Wrath

Steam Tanks are mechanical wonders created by the genius Leonardo di Miragliano in 2025 IC and mostly kept in working order by the Imperial College of Engineers in Altdorf. They are enormous war machines, capable of propelling themselves over rough terrain and mounting large pieces of artillery.

Whilst the Engineers are able to keep eight of the contraptions in working order, the secrets of their construction died with Leonardo. The remaining tanks are therefore highly prized, so when one of them goes missing on the road to Carroburg competent and discrete investigators are sought to track it down.

The Emperor's Wrath is a complete adventure for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, but also includes a comprehensive guide to the history of the Empire's Steam Tanks, the weapons and equipment they carry, and how to pilot one of these steel behemoth in games.

This scenario features:

  • A gripping mystery to discover what became of the Steam Tank Emperor’s Wrath.
  • A history of Steam Tanks, twelve wonders of engineering built centuries ago and maintained by engineers of Altdorf.
  • Rules for operating a Steam tank in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.
  • Rules and background for the Bog Mummies, ancient Wights who haunt the fens and mires of the Old World.

The Warband of Bayl of Many Eyes

Pillaging bands of Chaos Warriors pose a constant and terrible threat to those living closest to the frozen north. Whilst all these reavers are to be feared, the warriors of Chaos who devote themselves to the Plague God Nurgle are particularly loathsome, for they are not satisfied to merely ravage and kill , but delight in spreading blight and disease in the name of their pestilent deity.

The Warband of Bayl of Many Eyes is a 18 page PDF which continues a series describing various tribes, warbands, and groups of roving troublemakers.

  • In world perspective - Olde Weirde’s Incunabulum provides an example of how learned people in the Old World think about worshippers of Nurgle. Olde Weirde is an eccentric academic whose views may be considered rather too liberal by the authorities; but he does provide an example of the sort of knowledge available to Characters interested in researching the subject.
  • Templates for adding variety to Chaos Warriors - Along with game information for personalities from the warband, you’ll also find templates for Chosen and Forsaken Chaos Warriors, Exalted Heroes, Chaos Lords and Chaos Sorcerers. These can be used to advance the Chaos Warrior profile found in the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Rulebook.
  • An example band of Chaos Warriors - We also provide a guide to Bayl’s warband, a particular group of Chaos Warriors devoted to Nurgle who are on a mysterious quest, the implications of which even their leader fails to understand. Ideas for how their mission might result in adventures and encounters are provided, as well as four example members of the warband made using the templates.
