Beasts of War interview with C7's Emmet Byrne
Ben from Beasts of War interviewed Cubicle 7's Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Producer Emmet Byrne last week, in case you missed it you can find it here or we have added the text below to make it easier.
Ben: How was it that you got involved with the Age Of Sigmar Roleplaying Game project?
Emmet: I joined the company back in September of last year when C7 moved to Ireland. When I came on board, I asked if I could be part of the development team for the (then titled) Age of Sigmar Roleplaying Game and Dom, our CEO, very kindly said yes!
B: If you were to describe a typical session of the AoS RPG how would it play out? Is it very typical of other dungeon crawling adventures or does it take a different tone?
E: I think what sets Age of Sigmar: Soulbound apart is that it is less about going out and exploring lost dungeons and recovering treasure in this grand frontier, and more about securing what you have and trying to survive. The Mortal Realms, particularly after the Shyish Necroquake, are

#TeamTuesday
As our team continues to expand here at Cubicle 7 we want to share more insights from team members on their love of RPGs, their careers and the work they do here at Cubicle 7. This week we hear from Elaine, one of our amazing freelance writers!
Greetings mortals and monsters! I’m Elaine, a freelance writer at Cubicle 7 currently working away on Age of Sigmar: Soulbound and soon to be working on Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory.
My love for storytelling was forged among the twisted, wyrdstone laced ruins of an old world city. One spoken of only in hushed words... “Mordheim”. Like many drawn to this hobby, I grew up on wargames, video games and my mother’s massive hand-me-down horde of pulp sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks. I have no doubt that I spent most of my formative years exploring other worlds rather than living in my own. But it wasn’t until my gaming group discovered the wonders of emergent storytelling that the warpflame spark of creativity ignited my mind.
No longer was I simply

Meet the Team - JG O'Donoghue
For this weeks #TeamTuesday we hear from another of C7's incredibly talented artists - JG O'Donoghue. We recently revealed some of JG's amazing art for our upcoming release WFRP Rough Nights & Hard Days and we look forward to sharing more very soon!
My interest in fantasy art started as a pre teen when I saw the cover of The Hobbit, I was just blown away by the majesty of the idyllic nature and I still remember it to this day. I didn’t actually read Tolkien until my parents locked me in my brothers attic room to study for my final school exams (The Leaving Cert) and I found his copy of The Lord of the Rings. As one can imagine I didn’t do very well in the Leaving Cert, but what a great book!
I currently work for Cubicle 7 as a staff artist. My arts entire purpose is to be the hand for the leg up and over the wall for your imagination, as you wonder through our amazing deep fantasy worlds. Before this, I spent many years working in archaeological illustration, reconstructing heritage

Meet the Team Graeme Davis
This week we have legendary Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game designer Graeme Davis taking us through his journey with WFRP and his current work with Cubicle 7. We hope this makes you all as excited as we are here at C7 for whats to come in 2019!
Hello, everyone!
My name’s Graeme Davis, and I’m proud to say I’ve been involved with WFRP since the very beginning.
In early 1986, I was a not-terribly-successful graduate student at Durham University in England, researching prehistoric burial practices and spending far too much time playing AD&D, Call of Cthulhu, and Bushido. I had been writing articles for White Dwarf since 1982 – my first, in issue 32, was an AD&D subsystem for drug addiction, but then it was the early 80s! – as well as for the short-lived Imagine magazine published by TSR UK, the British arm of D&D’s original publishers. But 150 miles south, in Nottingham, events were in motion that would change my whole life.

Meet the Team: Sam Manley
This week we want to introduce one of C7's incredible artists, Sam, who has created many amazing pieces for Cubicle 7 over the years. If you are a WFRP fan, you will certainly recognise some of the artwork below. We are really looking forward to Sam's work on the upcoming Age of Sigmar RPG. #TEAMTUESDAY

Hi! I'm Sam, tea-drinker and illustrator at Cubicle 7. I'm currently working on Age of Sigmar, having previously provided artwork for C7 for Cthulhu Tales, World War Cthulhu, Cthulhu Britannica, The Laundry, Lone Wolf, the Doctor Who Card Game, The One Ring, Adventures in Middle-earth, and WFRP. As a kid, Warhammer in particular had a huge impact on me - I played the game, but was really drawn into the world through the amazing artwork.
I'm a self-taught digital artist, and as well as that - and time allowing - I enjoy working in oil and scribbling with ink. My second love and hobby, I guess, is working with spray cans and stencils. I don't get

Meet the Team Síne Quinn
This weeks Meet the Team offers a new perspective from Cubicle 7's Editor Síne. Read on for more on working in the world of Role-playing Games and a peek into life at Cubicle 7!
Feeling restless and needing a new challenge, I knew it was time for another adventure. Wrestling with imposter syndrome (despite 20+ years in the industry) but trusting my gut, I decided to go for the role of Editor at Cubicle 7.
Plunged head first into a swirling trap door straight into the cobbled streets of Ubersreik, I’ve been chased by Greenskins, Beastmen, Goblins and Demons. I’ve joined many a cult and observed all kinds of crazy rituals; sipped a range of chilled brews and declined roasted rat.
With distant memories of home-made knitted multicoloured scarves, I’ve travelled in the Twelfth Doctor’s Tardis at break-neck speed; battled Daleks head on and hid from Weeping Angels. (Tom Baker, if you haven’t already guessed. I’m a child of the seventies after all.)
I’ve heard the tap, tap, tapping of tiny chisels

Meet the Team - Jacob Rogers
On this weeks Meet the Team we hear from one of Cubicle 7's writers for The One Ring and Adventures in Middle-earth™. In the coming weeks we will have insights from editors, producers, freelancers, marketing and more, so if you love RPG's or think you might like to work in the industry these articles should give you some insider knowledge and tips!
Hello everyone! I’m Jacob Rodgers and I work for Cubicle 7, doing mostly writing and development work for The One Ring and Adventures in Middle-earth™.
My history with both Middle-earth™ and roleplaying games extends for decades — the very first game I ever bought was the first edition boxed set for Middle-earth™ Role Playing soon after completing the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time. I promptly roped all my friends into playing and tried to recreate the Quest of the Ring in a roleplaying game. It failed miserably. But it was a stepping stone that taught me a lot about the interface between literature and

Meet the Team - T.S Luikart
This week we twisted T.S. Luikart's arm to share his backstory and love of RPGs.
It’s 3 a.m. on a school night and I’m staring, wide-eyed, at my startled Father, who stands, blurry-eyed, in my doorway. I’m in mid-jump, fine form, leaping up and down on my bed, yelling “Rohan! Rohan!” for the horns of the North were wildly blowing about dark Mindolluin’s sides and Rohan had come at last. My Father’s gaze dropped from mine to the copy of The Return of the King clutched tightly in my hands. He smiled slowly and shook his head. “It’s way past time for bed, Son.”
I was 7.
My name is T.S. Luikart and while that night may not have cemented my destiny, it’s no coincidence I wrote large parts of The One Ring’s The Horse-Lords of Rohanmany years after. I have been a roleplaying game designer for 26 years, a few highlights of which include Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition, Dark Heresy, the Dragon Age RPGfrom Green Ronin, Eclipse Phase, Tenra Bansho Zero, Golden Sky Stories

Meet the Team - Ben Scerri
This week we want to introduce you to one of Cubicle 7's writers, Ben Scerri. As the team at Cubicle 7 expands we want to share news and updates from our writers, producers, editors, artists and more to give you an insight into how our games are developed and who's involved.
Hey folks! My name's Ben Scerri, and I write for Cubicle 7, tinkering away in the word mines to bring you new WFRP content. I've been involved in the Warhammer world since I was a kid, and learned to read with gusto so that I could soak in as many roleplaying games and gamebooks as I could get my tiny hands on. I started my Warhammer Fantasy Battles journey with Dark Elves, and went on to collect Dwarfs, and Orcs and Goblins later on. I also played a lot of Warhammer 40,000, where Craftworld Eldar and Salamanders Spacemarines were my flavour of choice.
Since then, I've been writing small roleplaying games and fan supplements for my favourite games, in between running at least one weekly campaign in my spare time.
