A GM’s trusted shield – behind the Warhammer: the Old World Roleplaying Game Gamemaster’s Screen

Art by Antonio De Luca, in collaboration with Ivana Abbate.
Adventuring in the Old World is a glorious endeavour, but is fraught with risk. Danger lurks around every corner and players are constantly on the edge of their seat. One wrong step could spell doom for their characters or their party.
It is the job of the game master to cultivate and maintain the atmosphere of World of Legend, portraying the Grand Duchy of Talagaad and beyond, as well as managing the flow and pacing of the game. The new Warhammer: the Old World Roleplaying Game Gamemaster’s Screen is designed to assist GMs in telling the best story possible, ensuring that all of the information they need to do so is right in front of them at all times.
On one side: a masterful four-part tableau from Antonio de Luca in collaboration with Ivanna Abbate, which unveils the full picture that makes up the cover art from both the Gamemaster’s Guide and the Player’s Guide. It depicts an all-too-common scene from the Old World, as travellers are set upon by a horde of Beastmen, bursting forth from the primeval depths of the Great Forest.
On the reverse, you’ll find everything a GM might need to keep the game running smoothly: references for rules, conditions, combat, skills, wounds, and more, all arrayed in a satisfying and easy to read manner. These tables allow the GM to continue telling the story without breaking the flow to check the rules. That way, the focus stays exactly where it needs to be; on the players and the game.
Alongside the screen itself you will also receive a 32 page booklet that contains:
5 new Grim Portents, each an exciting start to a campaign that thrusts the characters into unavoidable danger. You might endure the merciless attention of a treacherous Talabec noble as a Witness to Treason, or receive the Unwelcome Inheritance of a Dwarfen grudge incurred by your ancestors.
12 tables designed to bring the streets of Talabec to life: the sights and sounds, its local festivals, the traditions of its inhabitants, and more besides.
An example alternate setting characteristic of the villages of Talabec — Hernhausen — with its own landmarks, Contacts, and Events table.
