  1. Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Knight-Incantor

    Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Knight-Incantor

    #MortalRealmsMonday

Today we’re discussing an Archetype for Age of Sigmar: Soulbound that was revealed at Warhammer Fest — the enigmatic Knight-Incantor of the Stormcast Eternals.

    Weavers of Celestial Magic

You are a warrior-mystic, a holy crusader with the storm energies of the Celestial Realm at your fingertips.

The Knight-Incantor is both an able warrior and a potent sorcerer. It is their duty to attend to the Anvil of Apotheosis whereupon all Stormcast Eternals who die are reforged, standing with a coterie of Knights-Incantor to sing the Celestial melodies that will soothe the confused and traumatised souls. That ability to manipulate the raw fury of the Storm Eternal is also a Knight-Incantor’s most powerful weapon. All Knights-Incantor were sorcerers of some kind in their mortal lives, or at the very least possessed some kind of innate magical talent, but beyond that they can differ enormously. A Knight-Incantor is as likely to feel at home in a dusty library in one of the Free

WFRP: There’s No Such Thing As Talent

    #WARHAMMERWEDNESDAY

Are you enjoying our regular Wednesday WFRP posts? We'd love to know what you think, so pop over to our facebook page and let us know what else you would like to see included in future posts! For now, settle in and enjoy more WFRP insights from Ben!

If you’ve heard someone say, ‘you’re so talented!’, you’ve probably also heard the following reply: there’s no such thing as talent. That is to say, what many people call ‘talent’ is just the end result of a lot of hard work and patience. Similarly, what we call ‘Talents’ in WFRP are earned just like any Skill: through a lot of hard work and XP.

Most Talents are bought with XP from a Career, and represent a specialised ability that goes above and beyond the normal rules. But, just like in the real world, Talents in WFRP are surrounded by misconceptions, so today I thought I’d have a quick review of Talents and even offer a few Optional Rules to consider.

‘If you can’t do, teach. If you can’t teach, preach the good word of
  3. Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Aether-Khemist

    Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Aether-Khemist

    #MortalRealmsMonday

Today AoS Producer Emmet Byrne is discussing an Archetype for Age of Sigmar: Soulbound that we revealed at Warhammer Fest back in May — the resourceful Aether-Khemist of the Kharadron Overlords.

Thirst For Knowledge and Hunger of Aether-gold

Part alchemist and part inventor, you seek aether-gold seams to bring prosperity to your sky-port and to further the knowledge of your Guild.

Aether-Khemists perform a vital function in Kharadron society. They know the secrets of aether-gold. They hold the closely guarded knowledge of how to find and follow veins of aether-gold, tracking their drift across the skies. An Aether-Khemist has received instruction from the Guild in a variety of devices they have engineered that can not only locate aether-gold but also gather and refine it, transmuting the caustic gas into a stable solid. Aether-Khemists learn to grade any find of aether-gold by smell, determining the quality of the strike and its potential for profit. Aether-Khemists

  6. WFRP: Keeping up with the Liebwitzs

WFRP: Keeping up with the Liebwitzs

Ben Scerri is back this week with another excellent blog for you all! Read on, and let us know what you think over on Facebook and Twitter!

Hi All, By now, I’m sure you’re all aware that I love subsystems — small self-contained sections of the rules that alongside the core rules — especially when they drive the fiction and compel Characters to action. As a GM, nothing makes my job easier (or more surprising!) than a self-sustaining subsystem that has the Players search out for their own adventure rather than following my lead. And by that I mean it’s time to talk about Social Standing and Between Adventures!

They say that money makes the (Old) World go around, and never has this been more apparent than in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition. Between Social Status, Endeavours Between Adventures, and scrounging in the mud for work, your Characters are going to be earning and losing money left and right.

'Do you really think you could compete with me?’

    However, if you’re anything like

  7. Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Skyrigger

    Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Skyrigger

    #MortalRealmsMonday

Today AoS Producer Emmet Byrne is looking at one of our previously announced Archetypes for Age of Sigmar: Soulbound — the Skyrigger in more detail.

    Masters of the Aether-endrin

Harnessing the power of an aether-endrin, you fly above the land, employing aethermatic devices to ensure the profitability of your venture.

Skyriggers are Kharadron who have mastered the use of a back-mounted aether-endrin. These fantastic devices give them the ability to fly through the air. Bulky, bulbous contraptions, the aether-endrins resemble what they are – miniature versions of the endrins that allow skyships to remain in the air. By adjusting the feed of aether-fuel, a Skyrigger can increase or decrease their altitude while venting aether-gas can provide manoeuvrability. These mixtures are highly volatile, so Skyriggers wear protective clothing and armour to guard against any caustic discharges.

“To float among the clouds is a wonder to be cherished. Almost as much as clapping eyes

  10. Building a New Era of Warhammer Memories

Building a New Era of Warhammer Memories

Cubicle 7 WFRP Producer Andy Law contributed an excellent article to Meeple Monthly's June edition, describing how C7 created the WFRP Starter Set. We have included the text from the article further below to make it easier to read!

Building a New Era of Warhammer Memories

    By Andy Law

We all have memories that never leave us. Perhaps of a first kiss? Or a period of great illness? Or a time you won against the odds? These memories linger, replayed in the mind, fondly recalled and reimagined as you share them with friends. As a roleplayer, my library of such memories is a little different to the standard. After all, in my mind, I have defied unjust emperors, battled mutants and trolls, and even died. And not many people can claim to remember that!

Walking in a new pair of shoes and experiencing the life of a different person is one of the great strengths of roleplaying games (RPGs). Unlike books, plays, or movies, where you watch another’s path through a fixed plotline, in RPGs you personally
