Catch up with C7’s CEO Dom McDowall

Hi All,

I hope you are safe and well! Here in Ireland COVID restrictions have begun to ease, enabling myself and some of the team to work from the office again. There’s a huge amount going on at the moment, but we’ve also been able to keep playing. At the moment, we’re in the last stages of our final playtest of Power Behind the Throne, Volume 3 of the Enemy Within Campaign, and we’re having great fun. It’s a WFRP classic for a reason!

Not only has my Bounty Hunter made the leap to becoming a much more respectable Duellist, but I am now the personal champion of the Graf of Middenheim himself. Established at court and with a real future ahead of him, my character Felix (not that Felix) has plans. A few investments in city businesses will give me the money for a farm in the countryside. Once I’ve defended the Graf for a few years, I’ll use my influence to gain a more rewarding (and less risky) position — maybe Chancellor? Settle down, raise a family. No more fighting with cultists. No more barges that, while very leaky, also seem to be highly flammable. Very glad to have all that unpleasantness behind me for good! Will let you know how it all goes.

It has been lovely to see so many of you receive your WFRP pre-orders for Enemy Within Volume 1: Enemy in Shadows, the Enemy in Shadows Companion, the Collector’s Edition, Ubersreik Adventures 1, the WFRP GM Screen, and the WFRP dice trays we teamed up with All Rolled Up to create!. They should have shipped in March, but were unfortunately left sitting in our printer’s warehouse for quite some time due to COVID restrictions. Our team are working hard to complete the dispatch of these orders from our Irish warehouse as soon as possible. The boat containing our US WFRP pre-orders should reach our US distributors soon and we’ll update our social media pages once dispatch there begins.

We are sending lots of new orders every day and there should be no delays on the delivery of in-stock items now. However, due to COVID-related restrictions, we are still unable to send to some countries, but these orders are packed and ready to go as soon as the restrictions are lifted! You can find more detail here.

The PDF for Death on the Reik should be released this month. As C7’s WFRP producer Pádraig Murphy mentioned in this update, we noticed some areas that required additional illustration when looking at the draft layout a few weeks ago. So, we commissioned new artwork and also made some additional amendments to ensure GMs and players get the best experience from DOTR.

Recently, we shared Developer Diary 10 with those who pre-ordered the Collector’s Editions of The Enemy Within. While the content is exclusive to pre-orders for a period of time, we will share the content of broader interest on our blog and social media. You may have seen this recent piece on our blog.

I’ve enjoyed reading the amazing feedback on Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound! We work on new games for a long stretch of time before they are shared with you all, so it’s awesome to see the discussions starting up everywhere. We’re excited to have just released the PDF for the GM Screen and we think it’s going to be a great addition to your game library. We are making good progress on the Soulbound Starter Set and aim to have it up for pre-order in a few months’ time.

We aren’t too far away from releasing the updated Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Wrath & Glory Rulebook PDF. We are combing through the errata currently and look forward to sharing a production update on the line soon. Once the PDF is updated, we will release a PDF with a full log of changes from the previous version of the game as promised. Now that we have the rules in place, we’re working on the first range of supplements for the game. We’re expecting to see more on the first few parts of that very soon, so we’ll have more to share on that in the next newsletter!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support over the last few months as we navigated our way through COVID restrictions and kept things moving here at Cubicle 7. We look forward to seeing local games stores opening back and joining some upcoming virtual conventions!
