WARHAMMER FANTASY ROLEPLAY UPDATE!

November Update

#WarhammerWednesday

Hi all! It’s been a busy few months for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and we’re very excited to share what we’ve been working on with you all.

As some of you might already know, WFRP is now available on both Roll20® and the Foundry virtual tabletops. We’ve had a great response from the community, and will continue to support both platforms going forward.

To that end, Enemy in Shadows, the first part of the epic Enemy Within campaign, should be making an appearance on the Foundry very soon!

We have also been working away on Middenheim: City of the White Wolf - the PDF will be released in a few weeks alongside the pre-order . It is packed with content about the most important (arguably, if you’re from Nuln) City State in the Empire and its denizens. The book comes with a lovely map of the city by Dániel Kovacs, which we are making available as an exclusive A1 poster as well.

Along with Middenheim: City of the White Wolf, volume one of Archives of the Empire will be available for advance pre-order. This collection of intriguing articles delves into some less-explored areas of the Old World, from the Elves of the Laurelorn forest to the stout Halflings of the Mootland. Pre-orders for Archives will go live along with Middenheim to allow customers to bundle the books together to save on shipping, with the PDF releasing a few short weeks later.

Death on the Reik print files have been sent to our printers, and shipping will commence in Q1 2021. In order to increase our print capacity we have recently changed to a new printer, well known for their excellent quality in creating collector’s editions and high-end print products. As we wanted to ensure every element of both the Standard and Collector's Editions matched the high bar set by Enemy in Shadows, this has taken a little longer than expected. We are very pleased with the print proofs and can confirm this edition will sit perfectly beside Enemy in Shadows on your gaming shelf! We will continue to update you on this process, and can’t wait to get them into your hands.

We were thrilled to see so many of you enjoying Hell Rides to Hallt over Halloween, and we’ll have a few more PDFs for you in the coming weeks. One Shots of the Reikland is a set of short PDF adventures to keep you all busy during these long winter nights. They are set in locations that should be familiar to you from Buildings of the Reikland, and are all designed as short, punchy adventures to be finished in a single session. It’s something of a new format for us, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s received!

We’ll also be releasing a holiday-themed adventure, so make sure to open your hearts to the true Spirit of Mondstille in preparation!

Of course, we can’t talk about Middenheim without mentioning the best known adventure to take place there. Power Behind the Throne, the next part of the Enemy Within, is well underway. If you’ve pre-ordered and receive the dev diaries, you’ll be treated to a behind-the-scenes look. The Campaign book contains the best version of Power Behind the Throne. Better organised, with streamlined rules and an extended calendar of events, the adventure should be easier to run for GMs, but every bit as satisfying for players.

We’ve been working on both the Campaign book and the Companion in parallel, to reduce the amount of time between release of the two books. The campaign book will be out in the next few weeks, with the Companion hot on its heels. The Companion contains the now-familiar bundle of advice on running the campaign, more adventures, additional NPCs (fully described with additional notes on the relationships with all of the original cast of NPCs), new Miracles, and information on one of Middenheim’s most pervasive, and perverse, cults.
